Josh Jasso is a 24 year film and television veteran. Starting as a Combat Camera Operator in the U.S. Air Force, he deployed all over the world and served a year in Iraq during the height of Operation Iraqi Freedom embedded in Baghdad and documenting every day life and operations at the Baghdad Airport for the Pentagon Joint Combat Camera Center.
After the Air Force he attended The Savannah College of Art and Design to study film and television. He quickly began working as a news photojournalist at WTOC CBS in Savannah and was promoted to the chief news photographer in charge of the entire news photojournalist team winning numerous AP awards.
He then transitioned into documentary and advertising work both as a DP and a Director. In 2014 the short documentary he directed for the Savannah Bee Company’s non-profit The Bee Cause Project won him his first Southeast Regional Emmy and he has since gone on to win two more.
